Biography

Danilo Joson Borja, also known as Danny, was born on July 13, 1949 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. He was the fourth of 9 children to Dominador and Carmen Borja. His biggest mentors were his father, and his grandfather (Mariano Borja).Their family migrated to Zambales in 1957.

In 1964, he joined an art contest at the Roosevelt College Marikina Foundation Day with his work called "Ruins of the Colosseum of Rome" which gave him the top price. Its medium was watercolor. He also joined several art exhibits during those times.

He was married to Mary Jane Borja in 1974 after he decided to move his family to Sagada, Mountain Province in 1991. His first one-man exhibit called "Transition" took place in Malate, Manila in 1994 and he sold most of his works to collectors all the world.

Danny's specialties are cubism, surrealism, and his favorite, realism. He has great passion to the works of Vincent Van Gogh, Rembrandt van Rijn, and Pablo Picasso. He is also a martial arts instructor to the kids of Sagada. He is blessed with 3 kids: his eldest runs a computer shop in Manila, the second is an English teacher in an International School in China, and his third is a Mechanical Engineer student in Baguio City.

Danny Borja is planning to have his first ever one-man exhibit at the Sagada Lemon Pie House on December 2008.
